Bushmills 14 Year Old Malaga Cask is a triple-distilled Irish single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The whisky matures for at least 14 years in first-fill and second-fill bourbon barrels, then spends up to twelve months in Malaga wine casks. That last stage forms part of the total maturation and builds on the bourbon cask ageing rather than replacing it.
The nose combines honey, vanilla and mandarin with warm spice. On the palate come mango, pineapple and apricot, with ginger, cinnamon, milk chocolate and caramel. The finish is long, with vanilla, apricot and mandarin turning to warm spice.
