Connemara Peated Single Malt

Connemara is an Irish single malt made with peated malt, a rarity among Irish whiskeys. The barley is dried over peat fires, a method inspired by an old tradition from the 18th century. The peat brings a gentle smokiness alongside a smooth, sweet malt character. On the nose there is sweet barley with wafts of peat smoke, kippers and baked apple crumble. The palate is lightly sweet with honey, a clean rather than sooty smoke, peaty vegetal notes, barley water, light spice and vanilla oak.
