Cromartie is the third in a series of limited edition Dalmore releases created by Master Distiller Richard Patterson in homage to Clan Mackenzie. This 16 year old Highland single malt is bottled at 45% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in American white oak casks, then moved to Oloroso sherry casks from the Gonzalez Byass bodega in Jerez de la Frontera.
The nose is floral, with thick dried fruit, raisins, dates and candied peel. The palate is thick too, with figs, sweet marmalade, chocolate, leather and a jolt of pepper. The finish brings dark chocolate over marmalade caramel, with a balanced bitterness.
