Dalmore – 18 Years Old (70cl, 43%)

This is an 18 year old Highland single malt from Dalmore, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Colour has been added, and it forms part of the distillery's core range. It spent 14 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then a further three years in Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks. The last 12 months were spent in upright sherry casks. The colour is a henna red. The nose offers vanilla, dark chocolate, English marmalade and sweet liquorice. On the palate come chocolate raisins, citrus fruit, strong coffee, nutmeg and spice, and the long finish carries traces of jasmine, stewed fruit and toffee.
