Daviess County Lightly Toasted is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 48% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It blends two bourbons, a wheated one with 68% corn, 20% wheat and 12% malted barley, and a rye one with 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley.
Both were aged for over four years in charred new American oak. The blend then had a second period in lightly toasted American oak barrels. It was made by Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown.
The nose has buttered toast, banana, maple syrup, caramel and vanilla. On the palate come honeyed sweetness, cinnamon and almond, then roasted nuts. The finish is medium-long, with toasted coconut and soft baking spice.
