Old Ezra 7 Year is a Kentucky straight bourbon aged for seven years and bottled at barrel strength, 58.5% ABV, in a 75cl bottle.
It is produced under the Lux Row Distillers name in Bardstown, using whiskey sourced from Heaven Hill. The mashbill is 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley, distilled by the sour mash method and charcoal filtered afterwards.
Caramel and sweet corn lead the nose, with cinnamon, clove, toasted oak and roasted pecan. The palate offers dark cherry, baking spices, vanilla and chocolate. The finish is long and warming, with oak, bittersweet chocolate and dark cherry.
