Ezra Brooks 99 Proof (75cl, 49.5%)

This is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Ezra Brooks, bottled at 99 proof, which is 49.5% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. It matured for four years in American white oak and is filtered through charcoal. It is not bottled at cask strength. The mash bill is 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley, and the rye adds a spicy side. Lux Row Distillers makes it. The nose is light, with charred oak, vanilla, caramel and a hint of peanut. The palate has creamy caramel, vanilla and light brown sugar, with oak, white pepper and peanut. The short, gently warming finish moves from caramel and vanilla to dry oak, leather, peanut shells and rye spice.
