Ezra Brooks Old Ezra 7 Year Barrel Proof Rye (75cl, 57%)

This is a seven-year-old barrel proof rye whiskey from Ezra Brooks, bottled at 57% in a 75cl bottle. It was distilled at the Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and aged in new charred American oak. It is bottled without chill filtration. It blends two rye recipes: whiskey from a 51% rye mashbill and whiskey from a 95% rye mashbill. The nose brings toffee and butterscotch with herbal mint underneath. On the palate, toffee and cherry sweetness lead to cinnamon and firm oak. The finish is long and minty, with toffee, cinnamon and a dry tannic edge.
