George Remus Repeal Reserve Series IX is the ninth annual release of a limited-edition blended bourbon, bottled at 52% ABV in a 75cl bottle. At that strength it is the highest-proof release in the series so far. It is non-chill filtered.
It combines four MGP bourbon recipes, aged between 10 and 18 years, and was produced at Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. A small part of the blend is an 18-year-old bourbon.
The nose shows seasoned oak, tobacco leaf, leather and ripe cherry. The palate is thick, with caramel, butterscotch, dark chocolate, walnut and plum. The finish is long and warming, with toasted oak, dried cherry and espresso.
