George Remus Repeal Reserve Bourbon Series VIII (75cl, 50.5%)

George Remus Repeal Reserve Series VIII is a limited-edition, non-chill-filtered bourbon blend of whiskies aged between 10 and 17 years, bottled at 50.5% in a 750ml bottle. It comes from Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. The blend combines a 17-year-old and a 10-year-old bourbon, both with a 21% rye mashbill, with a 10-year-old made with 36% rye that forms 67% of the whole. That larger share of the higher-rye recipe pushes the spice further forward than in earlier releases. The nose offers ripe cherry, candied pecans, red pepper and mint. The palate brings maple syrup, caramel, dark cherry and fig, with cinnamon rising. The finish is long, with vanilla, oak and baking spice.
