A four-grain straight bourbon blend from Penelope Bourbon, bottled at 47% in a 750ml bottle. It is a limited edition made as part of a charitable collaboration between Penelope Bourbon, SharedPour and the FCancer nonprofit, with a combined fundraising commitment of $500,000.
The blend uses straight whiskeys aged between four and six years, distilled at Ross & Squibb in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. The mashbill is roughly 42% corn, 37% rye and 21% malted barley.
Orange zest, warm caramel and chocolate chip cookies come first on the nose, followed by baking spice and white pepper. The palate is soft and citrusy, with brown sugar, butterscotch, vanilla, cherry, pear and apricot. The finish is long and oily, with citrus peel, oak and baking spice.
