Fuji Single Grain Japanese Whisky (75cl, 46%)

Fuji Single Grain is a Japanese single grain whisky bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle, and it is non-chill filtered. It is distilled at Mt. Fuji Distillery in Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture. The distillery makes light, medium and heavy grain spirits using multi-column stills, beer column and doubler stills, and kettle stills. The mashbill is corn and malted barley, with rye in the heavy style, and the three are blended to make this whisky. Poached pear, fruit tart and marron glace lead the nose, with cocoa and a Cognac-like richness. The palate is soft and thick, with pear, orange marmalade, raspberry jam, bitter chocolate and spice. The finish is long, with orange peel and dark chocolate.
