Heaven Hill – Parker's Heritage 9th Edition 8 Year Old Malt Whiskey 2015 (54%)

This is the 9th edition of Heaven Hill's Parker's Heritage Collection, an 8 year old Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey bottled at 54% ABV (108 proof). It honours Master Distiller Parker Beam, who selected a small parcel of barrels filled in 2006. The mash bill is 65% malted barley and 35% corn, an unusual style for Kentucky. The barrels aged on the 5th and 7th floors of Rickhouse Y, and the whiskey is bottled without chill-filtration. The collection benefits ALS research. Tasting notes describe rich cereal character, sweet orchard fruit and warming oak spice, with soft honey-glazed accents.
