High Coast 63 is a Swedish single malt bottled at cask strength, 63% ABV, in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and natural in colour. Made at High Coast Distillery in Ångermanland, it is built around the number 63.
The malt is peated to 63ppm and fermented for 63 hours, then matured for 63 months in 63-litre first-fill bourbon casks, re-coopered from 200-litre barrels.
Deep peat smoke on the nose comes with toffee, caramel, baked apple and red cherry. Black pepper, coriander, ginger and dried citrus peel follow on the palate, and the finish is long, smoky and edged with vanilla.
