High Coast Distillery – Dálvve Spanish Oak Single Malt (48%)

Dálvve Spanish Oak is a Swedish single malt from High Coast Distillery in Norrland, on the Gulf of Bothnia. It is finished in Spanish oak sherry casks from Jerez and bottled at 48%. The sherry casks give the whisky a deeper, darker character, and a touch of Ådalen smoke runs through it. Norrland's sharp swings between cold winters and warm summers are said to speed up maturation. The nose offers sherry, fruit and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, smoky bourbon notes sit alongside classic sherry flavours, and the finish is smooth with light honey.
