High Coast Distillery – Älv Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Älv is a Swedish single malt from High Coast Distillery in Kramfors, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The name is the Swedish word for river. It is matured in the Höga Kusten, or High Coast, region, where sharp seasonal swings in temperature speed up the exchange between spirit and oak compared with Scottish conditions. The nose brings fruit, vanilla, honey and light oak. The palate has apple, pear, caramel and gentle spice, leading to a clean finish of medium length.
