High Coast – Cinco (50cl, 50.5%)

High Coast Cinco is a Swedish single malt with a declared age of six years, bottled at 50.5% in a 50cl bottle. Only 5,195 bottles were filled. Cinco is Spanish for five, for the five types of sherry cask used in the finish: Oloroso, Fino, Pedro Ximenez, Amontillado and Palo Cortado. The unpeated whisky first spent time in bourbon casks. Eleven casks went into the vatting, ten of Spanish oak and one of American oak. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose combines vanilla and spice with clove, raisin, hazelnut and cedar. Red apple, hazelnut, dark berries, nutmeg and milk chocolate lead the palate. The finish is long, with vanilla, sherry notes and dried fruit.
