High Coast – Mountains 02 Borgerberget 8 Year Old (50cl, 51%)

High Coast Mountains 02 Borgerberget is the second release in the Mountains series, an unpeated Swedish single malt of about eight years. It matured in Bourbon and Moscatel casks and was bottled at 51% in 2,687 half-litre bottles, without colouring or chill-filtration. The Moscatel casks give a sweet, tutti-frutti fruitiness alongside papaya and vanilla. The series is devoted to the mountains of the High Coast, and Borgberget near Stensätter takes its name from an old hill fort whose remains can still be seen on the summit. The nose offers tutti-frutti, jasmine, honey and bergamot. On the palate, pear and papaya meet vanilla pod and orange peel, and the long, sweet finish carries light white pepper and heather honey.
