High West Barrel Select Rum Finish (75cl, 50%)

This is a bourbon from High West of Park City, Utah, finished in Barbados rum barrels. It comes from the distillery's barrel select programme, is hand-numbered and is bottled at 50% in a 75cl bottle. The extra time in rum casks ran from six months to two years. The nose offers honey and sweet caramel, candied cherries and a tropical warmth, with toasted oak and brown sugar beneath. On the palate there is vanilla and buttery caramel, then molasses, toasted coconut and ripe stone fruit, held in check by spice and oak. The finish is medium to long, with molasses sweetness, baking spice and dried tropical fruit, closing dry on oak.
