High West Bourbon is a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys from High West Distillery in Wanship, Utah, bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has not been carbon treated.
The blend combines MGP-distilled bourbon with a high-rye mashbill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley and other Kentucky bourbons. The components range from two to thirteen years old and all were aged in charred new American white oak.
The nose has caramel, melted butter, apple, vanilla and a thread of cinnamon. The palate brings honey nougat, cornbread, candy corn and rye spice, and the long finish moves through caramel apple, pecan pie and toasted oak.
