High West – High Country Single Malt (75cl, 44%)

High West High Country is an American single malt, bottled at 44% in a 750ml bottle and distilled entirely at the distillery in Utah's Wasatch Mountains. It is distilled on the grain, so the grain solids stay in the wash through fermentation and distillation. The mashbill blends three malted barley recipes: two-row with Crystal-60 and chocolate malt, plain two-row pale malt, and a peated Scottish malt. The nose offers roasted macadamia, dried cherry, bananas Foster and toasted coconut, with a thread of wood smoke. The palate is creamy, with smoked pear, honey, baked apple, toffee nuts and dark chocolate. The finish is medium to long, with honeycomb, charred marshmallow and cocoa nibs.
