Highland Park 12 Year Old 'Viking Honour' is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Highland Park Distillery in the Orkney Islands, in a 75cl bottle. It is matured mainly in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, and combines heather honey sweetness, fruitcake and gentle oak spice with a subtle, aromatic Orkney peat smoke.
It is glowing amber gold, with a smooth, medium-bodied mouthfeel.
The nose brings heather honey, fruitcake, a little cocoa, fresh citrus peel and light peat smoke. The palate offers honeyed malt, warm dried fruit, orange peel, winter spices and vanilla, with soft heathery smoke. The finish is medium to long, clean and gently sweet, with wood smoke and oak spice.
