Highland Park – 12 Year Old Vintage 2014 1st Fill Burgundy Wine Barrique Cask #130/2014 The Old Friends (54.6%)

This is a single cask Highland Park, bottled for The Old Friends series at 54.6% ABV. It was distilled in May 2014 and matured for twelve years in a first-fill Burgundy wine barrique before bottling in August 2026. The cask yielded 306 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The Old Friends series was started in 2018 by Michel Reick, also known as the Whisky Druid, and focuses on the individual character of each cask. The Burgundy barrique is said to bring fruit and firm tannins. It is described as having heather honey, red fruits and fine orange zest, with lively pepper and notable oak spice.
