Highland Park 15 Year Old Viking Heart is an Orkney single malt bottled at 44% ABV in a ceramic decanter made with Wade Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent. The porcelain is embossed with the distillery's lion and serpent design, and a heart motif on the back gives the whisky its name.
Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion chose mainly sherry-seasoned European oak casks for warm spice, and sherry-seasoned American oak for sweet vanilla, with a few refill casks added to soften the flavours.
The nose opens with crème brûlée, heather honey and cinnamon, followed by fresh pineapple and lemon zest, with sponge cake and aromatic peat smoke.
