Highland Park – 15 Year Old Viking Heart (70cl, 44%)

Viking Heart is a 15-year-old single malt from Highland Park, bottled at 44% and sold in a 70cl size. It was matured mainly in sherry-seasoned European and American casks, together with a few refill casks. The whisky comes in a ceramic decanter made by Wade Ceramics, inspired by the earthenware vessels in which whisky was stored centuries ago. The nose is typically described as brown sugar, orange oil and cinnamon with a soft, vegetal waft of peat. On the palate come heather honey and smoke, backed by vanilla, treacle and lemon, and the finish is spicy with cinnamon and smoky embers.
