This is a 30 year old Highland Park from Orkney, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice range at a natural cask strength of 51.1%. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
It was distilled in 1989 and matured in a refill sherry cask. It was bottled on 20 March 2019 as batch 19/003, with 489 bottles produced.
The nose combines ripe pears, dates and raisins with raw sugar, honey, aniseed, polished leather and cigar tobacco. The palate is full and complex, with blackberries, ripe apples, dark chocolate, menthol and orange zest. The finish is long, with gentle spice, pepper and a faint breath of peat smoke.
