Highland Park – 21 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

This is a 21-year-old single malt from Highland Park on Orkney, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was made from just 15 casks, in near-equal parts of first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak, first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak and refill casks. The European oak brings spice and dried fruit, while the American oak adds vanilla and citrus. The nose offers toffee, rum and raisin ice cream and light heather smoke. The palate has dried fruit, orange and poppy seed cake, followed by a rich, smoky vanilla tea finish.
