Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 2 is the second release in the distillery's Cask Strength series, a single malt bottled straight from the cask with no water added, in a 70cl bottle.
Gordon Motion, the master whisky maker, chose mainly sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, with a few ex-bourbon casks.
Aromas of summer rose, ripe pear and fresh coconut sit over aromatic peat smoke. The palate brings poached pear, rich almond cake, cloudy honey and salty liquorice, with toasted oak. The long finish carries orchard fruits, black pepper and sweet aniseed.
