Highland Park – Harald, The Warrior Series (70cl, 40%)

A single malt from Highland Park, one of six in the Warrior Series. The series launched in 2013 with Svein, Einar, Harald, Sigurd, Ragnvald and Thorfinn, and was sold until 2017. Harald carries no age statement and is bottled at 40%. Its maturation leans on American and European oak casks that previously held sherry. It is a fairly soft malt with honey, vanilla, spice and fruit, and a relatively delicate heather peat that gives a smoky, slightly maritime character. The sherry casks add ginger, sweet spices, wood and candied fruit.
