Highland Park Ice Edition is a 17 year old Orkney single malt, bottled at 53.9% in a 70cl bottle. It was released in spring 2016 in a run of 30,000 bottles.
The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon casks. It celebrates Orkney's long winters, summer frosts and fast winds, and nods to Niflheim, the birthplace of ice, frost and fog in old Norse mythology. It is the first half of a two-part series, completed by the 15 year old Fire Edition.
The nose offers cool, fresh pineapple and ripe mango sorbet, balanced by spicy smoke and ginger root.
