This is a New Born blended whisky from the Hishida Distillery in Kagoshima, Japan, in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was established in 2022 within the Tensei Shuzo brewery. It uses whisky aged for less than three years.
The blend combines malt whisky matured in white oak and Port wine casks with domestic grain whisky matured in Bourbon casks. It was blended under the supervision of Yusuke Yaku, and 3,000 bottles were released.
The nose is honey, ripe persimmon, apple cake and citrus, with notes of cigars and tea leaves. The palate has honey, dried leaves and dark chocolate with a strong cask accent. The finish is long and sweet, with vanilla bean.
