Jack Daniel's 10 Year Old Tennessee Whiskey (75cl, 48.5%)

This is a 10 year old Tennessee whiskey from Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, bottled at 48.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It belongs to the distillery's Aged Series, one of the few Jack Daniel's releases to carry an age statement. The mash bill is 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye. The spirit is mellowed through charcoal in the Lincoln County Process before it goes into new charred American oak, where it matures for ten years. The nose brings banana, stewed figs and dried fruit with toasted oak and caramel. On the palate there is warm butterscotch, ripe fruit and caramelised sugar with soft smoke and spice. The finish is long and smooth, with sweet tobacco, oak and spice.
