Jack Daniel's Old No.7, the Black Label, is a Tennessee whiskey from the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, founded in 1866. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before ageing, in the Lincoln County Process, then matured in new charred American oak barrels. The mash bill is 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye.
The nose has sweet caramelised banana, soft vanilla and toasted charcoal. The palate is mellow, with brown sugar, a touch of maple and light spice. The finish is medium and clean, with gentle warmth, smoky char and dry oak.
