Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Rye is a Canadian-sourced rye whiskey, bottled at 48% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is the first rye in the Jefferson's Ocean range. The whiskey is matured in #3 char barrels, then double-barrelled between #3 char and toasted barrels, before its barrels travel by ship across the equator four times, visiting five continents and more than 30 ports. It is non-chill-filtered.
The nose has toasted marshmallow, maple syrup and baking spice, with a hint of ginger. The palate is toffee and caramel, then seasoned oak, rye spice, vanilla, leather and tobacco. The finish is medium-long, with cinnamon and a touch of sea salt.
