Journeyman Featherbone is a certified organic straight bourbon from Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, Michigan, bottled at 45% in a 750ml bottle.
The mashbill is 70% organic corn, 25% organic wheat and 5% organic rye, single-distilled. Wheat in place of a rye-heavy secondary grain gives a softer, rounder profile.
Tasting notes describe sweet vanilla, chocolate and a distinct peanut butter note on the nose. The palate is warm and caramel-led, with cinnamon, earthy nuttiness and cracked black pepper. The finish is dry and medium in length, with baking spices, oak and cereal grain.
