Journeyman Silver Cross is a four-grain American whiskey from Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, Michigan, bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle. The distillery works from a former Featherbone Factory on the shore of Lake Michigan.
The mashbill uses equal parts rye, wheat, corn and barley, and the whiskey is aged in small casks. It is certified organic by the USDA and certified kosher.
The nose offers ripe blackberry and pear, warm baking spices, honey and fresh bread. On the palate it is warm and velvety, with caramel, dark fruit, cola and cocoa, then cinnamon and red pepper over a toasty, biscuity malt. The finish is of medium length, grainy and spicy, with wood smoke and dried almonds.
