A single barrel bourbon from Koval Distillery in Chicago, bottled in bond at 50% (100 proof) in a 75cl bottle. This edition is a collaboration with Anime Central, the Chicago-area anime convention, and carries special label artwork.
The mashbill is 51% corn and 49% millet, all of it organic grain, and the spirit is aged in new, charred American oak barrels. As a bottled in bond whiskey, it comes from a single distilling season and a single distillery, and has been aged for at least four years.
The nose is fresh-sawn oak with tart tropical fruit, cinnamon and teaberry. The palate is juicy and sweet, with mango chutney, vanilla, dark chocolate and baking spice. The finish is peppery caramel of moderate to long length.
Tasting Notes
