Kujira – Ryukyu 10 Year Old (70cl, 43%)

This is a 10 year old Japanese whisky from Kujira, distilled from 100% Indica rice and mashed with black koji, a type found only in Okinawa. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured for more than 10 years in virgin white oak casks. It is non-chill-filtered and non-coloured. The nose offers honey, brown sugar, spice and soft oak. The palate has buttery caramel sauce, liquorice and baked bread, with clove and cinnamon. The finish is long and spicy, with a slight bitterness against the sweetness.
