Kurayoshi 8 Year Old is a blended malt made by Matsui Shuzou in Tottori Prefecture, Japan. It combines Scotch and Japanese malt whiskies, and the blend is brought down to bottling strength with water filtered through volcanic stone. The whisky has spent eight years in maturation. On the nose it shows toffee, red berries and violets, with touches of pink peppercorn and orange peel. The palate brings toasted oak, macadamia nuts and ripe strawberries, with a gentle sweetness.
