This is a limited edition Islay single malt from Lagavulin, released to celebrate the 2018 Islay Jazz Festival.
It was matured in a combination of first fill American oak barrels, refill American oak hogsheads and European oak puncheons. The mix of casks is said to add depth, sweetness and spice to the distillery's smoky character.
It is typically described as combining peat smoke and maritime notes with the richer, layered influence of the oak.
