Laphroaig – 10 Year Old Sherry Oak Finish (70cl, 48%)

Laphroaig 10 Year Old Sherry Oak Finish is an Islay single malt introduced in 2021 and bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. Most of its ten years are spent in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, as with the original Laphroaig 10 Year Old. It then spends a further 12 to 18 months in European oak Oloroso sherry casks, which add sweetness to the medicinal peat smoke. The nose is earthy smoke with Manuka honey, dark baking spices and cured leather. The palate is waxy and full-bodied, with treacle toffee, maple syrup, peat and dark chocolate. The finish is long and warming, with sweet spice, sea salt and ash.
