Laphroaig – 12 Year Old Traveller Exclusive (70cl, 46%)

This is Laphroaig 12 Year Old in a Traveller Exclusive edition, a limited travel release of Islay single malt. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured for twelve years. Laphroaig stands on the south coast of Islay and has distilled since 1815, drawing its water from the Kilbride stream and malting its barley over its own peat fire. The nose is maritime, with seaweed and a touch of iodine. On the palate come smoked wood, medicinal herbs and a restrained sweetness, leading to a long, warming finish of smoky spice.
