Lindores – 'Friar John Cor' Chapter 1

The first release in the Friar John Cor series from Lindores, named in honour of the monk who was first authorised to make aqua vitae. The bottle is black, a reference to the tunics the monks wore. The whisky was matured in a mix of bourbon, Monbazillac sweet wine, STR and sherry casks. Red apples, tropical mango and banana lead the nose, with soft caramel, baking spices and delicate winey layers. On the palate come ripe apples, peach, nutmeg and cinnamon, with walnuts and vanilla behind and a creamy texture. The finish is medium to long.
