An Ardbeg distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2015 by Malts of Scotland. It was matured in a bourbon barrel, cask number MoS 15009, and 185 bottles were filled at 58.4% in a 70cl size.
The nose combines wood varnish, bubblegum, marshmallow, slow peat, amaretti, marzipan, white chocolate, Earl Grey, hay and delicate smoke. On the palate come sweet marzipan, pineapple and peach, with grassy smoke, seawater, iodine and a lightly peated character.
The finish is medium in length, citrusy, bitter and grassy, with a late burst of peat, apple peel and lime.
