Nikka Black Deep Blend (70cl, 45%)

Nikka Black Deep Blend is a Japanese blended whisky made from malt and grain whiskies, in a 70cl bottle at 45% ABV. It is matured in new oak casks, which give a sweet vanilla character and a distinct woodiness. The nose combines sweet vanilla, ripe orchard fruit and a little smoky peat. The palate is full-bodied, with pronounced malt, caramel and toffee, creamy vanilla from the oak and an underlying peatiness. The finish is long and warm, with smoky peat to the fore and a gentle bitterness.
