Nikka Black Special (70cl, 42%)

Nikka Black Special is a blended Japanese whisky from Nikka Whisky Distilling, bottled at 42% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The current expression dates from 1985, and the brand traces back to Black Nikka, first launched in 1956. The moustachioed figure on the label is known as the King of Blenders. It is made from malt whisky, grain whisky and neutral spirit, including Nikka's Coffey grain whisky, which adds gentle sweetness and a smooth texture to the malt. Malt richness, oak bitterness, gentle peat and a lingering woody finish are part of its character. The nose leads with toasted grain and malt aromas.
