Nikka Days is a blended Japanese whisky in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV, first shown at Whisky Live Paris in 2018. It was developed as an easygoing everyday whisky for markets outside Japan.
The blend combines malt whisky from the Yoichi Distillery in Hokkaido with grain whisky from Miyagikyo in Sendai. It carries no age statement, and maturation is thought to lean towards ex-bourbon casks.
The nose is fresh with orange, lemon, apple and pear over gentle malt and a light floral touch. The palate is creamy and slightly waxy with honey, caramel and vanilla, and the finish carries a little peat, honey and mild bitterness.
