Octomore 17.2 is a five year old Islay single malt made from 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley peated to 81.0 PPM. It spent four years in second-fill French oak casks that had held bourbon, then a final year in first-fill Port barriques. It is bottled at 59.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The smoke leans towards charred, polished oak and toasted granary bread, with tart cherry jam, citrus, berries and sherbet sweetness, and an unusual floral lift.
