This is Old Forester 117 Series Prohibition Era Still Proof, a limited edition Kentucky straight bourbon at 65% ABV, in a 37.5cl bottle. It pays homage to Old Forester's history as one of the few distilleries legally permitted to produce whiskey for medicinal purposes during Prohibition. The nose combines bright orange peel with warm toasted oak and hints of chocolate nougat, hazelnut and honey. The palate opens with crisp apple, followed by rich baklava and warm cinnamon spice. The finish is intense, with rye spice, white pepper and a little zesty citrus.
