Old Forester – 1897 Bottled in Bond Bourbon (75cl, 50%)

Old Forester 1897 is a Kentucky bourbon that recalls the Bottled in Bond Act, in which Old Forester played a significant part. In keeping with that act, it was matured for at least four years in charred American oak and bottled at 100 proof, which is 50% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. The nose is bright and fruity with floral and oak elements, and a warming strength. On the palate, sweetness and spice are balanced, with dark fruit leading and touches of caramel, vanilla and oak. The finish is long and sweet, with a gentle lingering spice.
